Richard P. Reavey, Senior Policy Advisor

 

Richard has unparalleled international experience in corporate communications, regulatory strategy, and government relations, navigating the complex relations between the private sector, government, and the media. He has worked on the ground with governments, the media, and a  range of stakeholders in over 50 countries in roles requiring exceptional business diplomacy.

Reavey's experience ensures extensive access across the federal government, in Congress, and around the globe, as well as to additional consultants in the US and abroad.

From 2014 through 2019, Richard was Vice President Government & Public Affairs at Cloud Peak Energy, one of the largest coal producers in the US, and was at the forefront of a range of political and regulatory issues facing the energy industry. Previous experience includes over three years as Senior Consultant at Advisory Services Consulting in New York, providing transactional advice and communications and government relations strategies to clients mainly involved in emerging markets, three years at Sigma-Sense Consulting heading the Strategic Communications, Advisory Services and Regulatory Management Practice, and an Interim Management role as COO at The Whitaker Group, a strategic public affairs firm in Washington DC.

An executive with Altria/Philip Morris International for a number of years, he served in a series of roles of increasing complexity and responsibility heading the government affairs and communications functions of business units in Europe, the Middle East, Southeast Asia, and as head of corporate affairs for one of four global operating units, the Latin America & Canada Region.

His experience in Washington, at the state and local level, as well as unmatched international experience and an extensive global network are immense assets for Private Equity Servives and its clients.
